Ralph Garcia

Facilitator

Ralph Garcia is a new addition to The Rainmaker Companies.  His focus will be on group facilitation and accountability. Ralph draws on his many years of experience and success as a managing partner leading a CPA firm as it developed and grew.  His approach to facilitation is to assists groups and organizations in truly locking-in a shared vision for their future. This is the key. Then through the use of innovative tools and techniques, he facilitates the team in creating strategies and tactics to get that vision.  Lastly, through clear assignments and accountability he assists the group to get to timely execution.

Ralph has avidly studied the evolution of the public accounting profession during his career spanning 40 plus years.  He spent the majority of his time with a small regional Tampa practice, Pender Newkirk & Company, CPAs beginning as a staff accountant working his way to leading the firm for 7 years as its Managing Partner.  During his tenure the firm progressed from the “eat what you kill” operating model to a corporate model, the firm was recognized as the 2011 Business of the Year in Tampa and was a winner of several Best Places to Work awards. Ralph’s final accomplishment was to expand the capabilities of the firm as well as the opportunities for staff by negotiating and overseeing the combination of his firm with Warren Averett, a southeast based Top 30 CPA firm. For the 5 subsequent years, he was Office Managing Member for Central Florida.

Ralph retired from Warren Averett in 2017. In the short time since his retirement, he has facilitated sessions for both a large community organization in Central Florida and a large regional utility contractor. He also applied his talents to serve as an advisor-consultant to the Board of Directors of a regional distribution company, serves on the Board of Trustees of a large hospital group and serves on the finance committee of a $4 billion Health System.

  • His band “Blue Dice” has recorded and issued 3 CDs in the past 20 years
  • Food and wine lover, from Vietnamese street food to Michelin starred restaurants, or jug wines to the best Bordeaux
  • Originally wanted to be an architect – but was turned down because he’s colorblind
  • Recently revisited that dream by rescuing and rehabbing a Midcentury Modern home in his community
